Let's Turn Someone's "Joke" Into a Positive!!

For those who haven't heard about Jack Hoffman and his battle with cancer, you are missing out on a great story about a great little boy.  This little boy has gone through more than more grown men and has been such an inspiration to so many.  Here is a link to his story, http://www.curesearch.org/legacy.aspx?id=10201.

Jack brought the nation to tears a few weeks ago with his 60 yard touchdown run at the Nebraska spring football game.

He was the leading rusher and was such a story across the nation that "Upper Deck" (http://www.upperdeck.com/) decided to make a trading card for Jack.

The trading card was then put up for auction and the proceeds were to go toward "The Team Jack Foundation".  However, this is where the story goes south.  The winning bidder is refusing to pay because he states that his friend placed the bid for him as a joke.  Real funny right?

The point of this blog is for a community, nation, etc to come together and redeem this story and turn it back around.  What I am proposing is that we all join together and make up the $6,100 winning "bid" and show Jack that we are all pulling for him.

The link below is a direct link to the "Team Jack" donation page.  From there you can donate however much you want.  But in order to specify what the funds are for in the "COMMENT" section of the donation page please write, "DONATION TO FULFILL WINNING EBAY PLAYING CARD BID".  This way the people running the donation center for "Team Jack" knows what and why people are giving to this great cause.

Please stand with me and make it known to Jack that a selfish and inappropriate act by one person cannot and will not, deter the thousands of people rooting for him.

Thank you all and God bless.

TO GIVE TO TEAM JACK PLEASE FOLLOW THIS LINK AND MAKE SURE TO PUT IN THE COMMENT SECTION WHY YOU ARE GIVING.

  2. What's going to happen to the card in the end? I think it should be donated to the university--sure there's a wall there that can remind future athletes that while Husker nation enjoys winning games; there's a heck of a lot more to it.

    1. That sounds like a great idea. Maybe they would put it up on the wall next to the all-americans or something like that
